Industrial electrocoating for automotive and industry

Electroplating treatment for metal components requiring high corrosion resistance, uniform coverage and reliability in mass production.

Grupo Marsan offers e-coating processes for automotive and industrial metal components, combining production capacity, process control, technical expertise and support for demanding production programmes.

Electrophoretic deposition process for metal components

Cathodic electrocoating is a painting process particularly suited for metal parts that require homogeneous anti-corrosion protection, even in complex geometries, internal areas, edges, cavities, and hard-to-reach areas.

Through the immersion of the piece in a paint bath and the application of an electric current, the coating is deposited in a controlled manner onto the metallic surface. Subsequently, the process is completed with washing, curing, and quality checks that ensure the stability of the finish and the required protection.

A solution particularly suitable for technical parts where anti-corrosion protection, repeatability and process control are critical.

Technical advantages of the process

Corrosion resistance

The process provides a uniform protective layer, suitable for parts subjected to demanding durability requirements.

Homogeneous coverage

Electrodeposition allows for coverage of internal areas, cavities, and complex geometries with good coating uniformity.

Repeatability

Stable and controlled process, suitable for serial production programmes and high volumes.

Thickness control

Allows coating thicknesses to be managed within defined process windows according to customer requirements, ranging from 10 to 45 microns.

Automotive compatible

Process aligned with the usual automotive industry requirements for quality, traceability, and industrial reliability.

Base for other finishes

E-coating can be used as a base layer before other finishes such as powder coating or liquid paint.

Cataphoresis as a basis for combined coating systems

In certain projects, electrophoretic coating can be combined with other finishing processes to enhance the functional or aesthetic performance of the part. The combination of electrophoretic coating with powder coating or liquid painting allows for the development of coating systems tailored to specific requirements for corrosion resistance, surface finish, colour, exterior durability, or the end customer's needs.

KATA_new series (3)

Cataphoresis is chosen when electrocoating is required as a finishing process, especially for parts that need a uniform, durable, and corrosion-resistant coating.

Cataphoresis is a solution especially suitable when the project requires anti-corrosion protection, uniform coverage and process stability on technical metal parts.
